Dr. Bob Schwanebeck became the
pastor of Northpointe Presbyterian Church on July 5, 2005. Coming to
Meridian was something of “coming home” to him as he was
born in Meridian while his father was pastor of the Jones Memorial
Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Schwanebeck, a graduate of Covenant College,
received his Master of Divinity Degree and his Doctor of Ministry
Degree from Reformed Theological Seminary. He served as pastor of the
Magee Presbyterian Church in Magee, MS for 5 ½ years and as
pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Louisville, MS for 16 years.
He then served at Palmer Home for Children in Columbus, MS for 4
½ years. While Bob worked for Palmer Home, the Schwanebecks
continued to make their home in Louisville.
Dr. Schwanebeck and his wife, Carol, are the
parents of two sons. Both are graduates of Mississippi State
University. Dr. Jason Schwanebeck is a first year resident at the
University Medical Center in Jackson. David is working as an
Emergency Room technician at the University Medical Center and is
applying for medical school. Carol is a Family Nurse Practitioner
at the medical clinic at the Merdian Naval Air Station.
Dr. Schwanebeck is active in Mississippi Valley Presbytery. He is
chairman of the Mississippi Joint Committee on Campus Work
(RUF) and is Chairman of the Advisory and Shepherding Committee.
